The Running Fox is a great nearby dining option.
The communication was terrible during our stay. I called twice and emailed without receiving any response. We had issues with the television, and the only response was a recorded message. This was especially frustrating as we just wanted to relax after a long journey.

wonderful rural retreat near stunning parks and landmarks
My double room had beautiful views of the countryside, making it so relaxing, and i loved the generous array of complimentary refreshments that made my stay feel extra special. this place is ideal if you enjoy walking since it's a reasonable trek to the village and the nearby cragside house and gardens offer stunning scenic strolls.

The Double Room with Private Bathroom offers an impressive level of comfort with clean, spacious layout and tasteful decor. The bathroom provides essential amenities like ample counter space for toiletries, making it easy to feel at home.
The absence of breakfast on-site requires a trek to a nearby café, which might not suit those looking for convenience during a leisurely morning. a shelf near the sink for toiletries would improve functionality, as using the floor isn’t the most hygienic or convenient option.

great stay but could improve on details
The family-run atmosphere made us feel genuinely welcomed! The room itself was furnished to a high standard, making our stay very comfortable.
The lack of food options on-site was a slight inconvenience.

I had a lovely two-night stay and really enjoyed the spacious room with plenty of snacks and water. The cozy setting made it feel like home. The garden offered a peaceful spot to unwind and a charming area for morning coffee. The only downside was the TV not working during my stay, but that didn't ruin my overall experience. 😊
